Sample Text Message Ideas To Hit The Keyboard Running!

Use these ideas and sample text message ideas to hit the keyboard running!

One of the ways ACSAR can help your business grow, is to provide you with easy access to information that helps you hit the keyboard running! The quicker you implement your text message advertising campaign(s), the sooner you start to see the added success for your business.

So, what types of messages should you be sending? This seems like an easy question to answer, until you start thinking about the character counts, wordsmithing, and the little details that can start to make one’s head dizzy. Here are just some ideas and thoughts regarding each:

A Welcome SMS message.

A Business SMS/MMS message with info.

A Business SMS/MMS message with an action item.

A SMS/MMS message to employees or organization members.

It starts with Hello.

Welcome Sample Message

“Thx for Joining Joe’s VIP list, 4-6 texts a month w/ deals & news! www.yoursite.com details Msg & Data rates may apply. Rply “STOP” to Cncl.”

Always, always, always send a welcome message to your customer. This can be done with ACSAR’s autoresponder, so make sure that is one of the first items set up in your portal.

As shown in the example above, the autoresponder message should include a few things.

  1. Remind the customer of your business name,
  2. Give the customer a “heads up” on how many messages they’ll receive from you each month.
  3. Add “Msg & Data rates may apply,” and
  4. Add Rply “STOP” to Cncl.

Once you have a group list established, you’ll want to start sending them regular SMS text messages. A good rule of thumb is 1-2 per week, depending on your organization and time of year.

How Are We Doing?

Include a link to you site so your customers can complete a survey.

“Thanks for shopping at Joe’s Store this week… Would you mind letting us know how we’re doing www.yoursite.com/survey

Happy Holidays!

“Happy Festivus! We hope you and your family are having a wonderful Festivus day! From Frank’s Store. Learn more here: www.yoursite.com

Business Information Message

Business text messages are a tool used to share knowledge, news, and information with your text group list. Being direct and to the point is important. These should also direct your recipient to a mobile friendly landing page where they can find out more information. ACSAR makes this easy – simply copy and past a browser link into your message, via our portal, then click SEND!

Don’t use these to messages to sell, use these to share information and educate.

The Friendly Reminder

“This is a friendly reminder to join us at Joe’s Restaurant tonight for the boy scout fundraiser. 6:00 PM @ 1234 Main Street, Your Town, USA”

Information!

“Did you know 11/21/2017 is National Entrepreneurs Day? Learn about using SMS to grow your new business here! www.biztext247.com Rply “STOP” to Cncl”

Note, this message included the wording “Rply “STOP” to Cncl” – it’s a good practice to remind people they have the ability to be removed from your list. Very few will do this, but its a good practice.

Giveaways!

“Free Meal for all Veterans on Veterans Day 11/11/16. Stop by Joe’s Restaurant. Visit www.yoursite.com/vets for info on how we help.”

If you’re so inclined during this Christmas season, please give to either The Wounded Warrior Project, or your local charity that assists veterans who served our great country.

Call to Action.

When developing relationships with your customers and potential customers, think soft sale and not used car salesman. You want people to take action with you, for the long term, not take a shower because of having done business with you once. Here are a few ideas:

The Timely Offer

This would be a good text to send the weekend AFTER Thanksgiving, when many are starting to decorate for Christmas.

“Another burned out string of Christmas lights? All Christmas lights and decorations 20% off this weekend at Joe’s store. www.yourlink.com/xmas

Or, if you know your group list demographics, you may send this message:

“The perfect Men’s gift – BBQ master grilling set! He’ll love cooking for the family with this BBQ kit. Order here: www.yoursite.com/BBQ

Black Friday or Cyber Monday Offers

“Don’t waste time standing in line today… order your Christmas gifts online: www.yoursite.com/gifts. 10% discount Black Friday Only!”

Order Now

“Golfing this Sunday? We have tee times available. www.yoursite.com/golf to schedule a tee time. 10% off after 2:00pm. From Sandpiper Golf Course!

There are hundreds of ways to ask for an order… you simply need to include a call to action in your text message. But you don’t need to use SMS messages in your business for communicating with just prospects and customers… you can use it to communicate with your employees too!

Call Me Please

Sometimes you need customers to call in. Here’s a message to use in that scenario:

“Struggling with your retirement planning? Call Oscar at 213-xxx-xxxx to schedule a free retirement planning consultation.”

Here are a few examples…

Product Information

“Servers, new special linguini w/ clam sauce ($23.95)… wine pairing house Chardonnay ($8.00 glass).. Apple tart for dessert (9.97) see Chef Danny for tasting.”

As you see there are thousands of ways to use business sms messages. You can educate your prospects, tell your customers about deal, send VIP’s a special… and use business sms messages to communicate with your employees.

Important Management Information

“IMPORTANT: To Opening & Closing Managers… new alarm code set! Call Henrietta at 213-xxx-xxxx for the code.”

Just a reminder that text messages are not 100% secure, as many smartphones display message information without needing to be logged in. So, I don’t recommend sending passwords and other confidential important information via text.

Employee Schedules

“Reminder: Next week’s work schedule is posted here: www.yoursite.com. Call Oscar at 213-xxx-xxxx with questions.”

We're here to help you through anything you need to get started.
